Together is a nine-session small group resource for married couples. It’s primarily aimed at Christians but works for any couple who is open to teaching from the Bible. It is essentially marriage discipleship!
We recently finished a Together group with four other couples from our church and continue to see it help couples invest positively and practically into their relationship. This is what one of these couples said about their experience of Together:
Going through the Together marriage sessions has been a truly valuable experience for us. It gave us the time, space, and practical tools to slow down, reflect, and reconnect as a couple.
The sessions on communication, conflict resolution and handling feelings constructively stood out the most. They helped us become more aware of how we speak to each other—especially in tense moments—and how we can better manage our emotions instead of letting frustration or anger take control.
There was also something deeply encouraging about sharing the journey with other couples. It reminded us that we’re not alone in the challenges of marriage.
Here are six reasons why I love Together:
1. It works for a whole variety of couples regardless of background and culture. For example, the underlying skills for resolving conflict well work whether you’ve been married a long or short time, or whether you’re from a reserved culture or a more expressive one.
2. It is endlessly practical. There is good solid biblical content in there, but like any good theology, it helps you understand how to live everyday life and navigate challenges with practical and transferable tools, whilst exploring God’s design for marriage.
3. It covers A LOT of stuff. Do you want guidance with communicating better? Do you want to understand your partner’s and your own emotions better? Do you need to appreciate your differences more? Do you want to grow a bigger vision for your marriage? Do you want to deepen your physical and spiritual intimacy? Together covers all this and a whole lot more. You are guaranteed to discover something new that will benefit your marriage.
4. It builds community. We are not supposed to live in isolation, even if we share life with a significant other. Going on the Together journey with other couples builds friendships and can be an essential means of encouragement in our marriages.

5. It includes ‘Couple Times’. The genius of Together is that the real work is done privately as a couple in between group sessions. You get to talk through your stuff honestly and openly, guided by the special couple time questions you will have thought about in the group. This is where the change happens.
6. Anyone can run a Together group! It’s an ‘off the shelf’ resource so you can start up a group with couple friends in your church or community. That doesn’t mean you won’t get any help. We have lots of helpful resources to guide you on your way and you can always contact us if you need more support or advice.
